Quantum XL-1000 "The company invented the very first embroidery machine for the home sewing market (model 6268) is now introducing the most unique, user-friendly, and powerful computerized sewing machine today," said Mark McGuiness, president of Singer Sewing Company. Singer launched their new Quantum XL-1000 at their academy in August to the most enthusiastic group of dealers ever. Three key features of the XL-1000 include it ability to create huge designed, to manipulate preprogrammed motifs, and to sew with unprecedented speed and ease of use. Consumers want the ability to create gigantic embroidery designs quickly and easily. Two exciting options are available for XL-1000 owners. First, a huge hoop offers a 130mm x 240mm, or nearly 5 1/2 inch x 9 1/2 inch, field for embroidery, larger than any other sewing machine on the market. In addition, the operator can create gigantic embroideries of unlimited size with Singer's exclusive Multi-Hoop feature. It's amazingly easy to do on-screen layout of 250mm x 470mm, of almost 10 inch x 18 1/2 inch, designs, using built-in motifs, preprogrammed cards and scanner cards. The edit and zoom functions allow close-ups as creative changes are made. The XL-1000 can then be programmed to stitch a perfectly alined design, even if the operator hoops the fabric unevenly. The XL-1000's wonderful flexibility allows unlimited creativity. It accepts all nineteen current embroidery cards. In addition, five cards are built into the machine, offering a huge selection of letters and numbers, monogram tambours, floral patterns and borders. New cards will follow, and dealers should note that that many of these will also fit the Quantum XL-100. A PC interface will be available in the future, allowing the user to create custom embroidery and use commercial designs. :Each of our embroidery cards is painstakingly digitized specifically for our machines," said Don Ringstrom, corporate product development manager. "Homesewers have a much greater desire for perfect embroidery. They want tight stitching and precision outlining that is not a priority with ready-to-wear. Singer embroidery is known for meeting our customers' strict standards; our machines create the most beautiful embroidery on the market." The XL-1000 can also mirror-image motifs, rotate them and combine different patterns. Steps in a design can be chosen separately of skipped over. Letters can be sewn vertically or horizontally. They can also be rotated five degrees at a time to create beautiful arches.
